Last week I wrote a post about how you need to look back before you can look forward called 2012: Year in Review.

Then I started thinking that I had better get going on my 2013: Looking Forward post (since it’s already 2013).  I started brainstorming ideas for each of the topics that I hit in the Year in Review post: Family, Organization, Business, Craftiness and Personal. As I jotted down goals for each of these topics, each one seemed to grow. The five topics together seemed to be a really long post.

(BIG Secret About Me —>I don’t read greeting cards when people give them to me. I know this is a crazy thing to admit (since I’ll never get another card from any of you ever again…and it seems kind of random to admit it in the middle of a post about goals.)  But if  the card has more than a sentence…meaning a few words on the front and finishes the sentence on the inside…then I’m just not interested in it. I’ll even stand there if you’re watching me and “pretend” to read it, but I won’t really read it.)

My Point: Blogs are like greeting cards.

If you can’t say it in a nice short, sweet, to the point post, that makes me giggle a little, then I’m just not interested! I try to write my posts as if I’m the intended reader (because I”m probably the ONLY reader). So I think I need to make this a blog series. Am I making any sense? It’s kind of late and I haven’t been sleeping well (notice I am making excuses for myself in case I’ve totally lost you).

My Plan:

Over the next few days I will write a series of posts that explains my goals for 2013: Looking Forward.

Part 1: Explanation

Part 2: Personal, Family and Crafty goals for 2013

Part 3: Organization and Business goals for 2013

Part 4: Tie it all up into a nice neat bow!

Come back tomorrow and find out what I have up my sleeve for my family (insert evil laugh here) for 2013!
