betweencoffeeandwine.netToday I’m going to start my 30 Days of Fun – Preschool Edition posts.  These posts will have activities for you to try with your preschooler each day to add a little fun! The topics will be: fine motor skills, gross motor skills, science, math, reading and writing. Then next month, I will post another 30 Days of Fun but Elementary Edition for the older kids! It’s been a lot of fun finding different engaging activities out there on the web, so really limiting to 30 has been the difficult part!

Day 1 will be in the Fine Motor Skills arena.  While looking around, I found a blog, The Snail’s Trail, with a cute idea.  The mom had given her little girl a bunch betweencoffeeandwine.netof marbles, a spoon and a bottle…and it kept her busy! I thought that might be a fun activity for my boys (and your kids) too.

Baby thought this was a lot of fun. He jumped right to it and figured out that if he tipped the spoon on the side, that the marble would go in.

betweencoffeeandwine.net Boo Boo, who you will quickly realize rarely wears pants, just figured if he missed the bottle then it was ok to pick up the marble and put it in the bottle. (So there may be a need for the Mommy Police for this activity to make sure they aren’t cheating!) I did convince him to extend the activity a bit by counting how many marbles he was able to get in to the bottle (40 by the way), but Baby just wandered away back to the play dough they’d been playing with before I so rudely interrupted them to try and do something a little more educational.

This morning they did ask to do it again, so I’m thinking it was a success! We worked on fine motor skills, fair play and math! Try it with your preschooler and let me know what they think about it! And don’t forget to check back every day for a new activity!
