With one kid in Kindergarten, one in preschool (turning 5 in the Fall) and a 2 year old that loves to color, I need to find things for them to do that are both educational and interesting.
As a former 1st grade teacher, I have tons of information floating around in my head and tons of resources still floating around in the house (lets not talk about all that clutter though).
It’s been a while since I’ve been in the classroom, so I thought I’d start trying to help the kids by making some fun alphabet activities. Evan is still working on holding a pencil/crayon correctly (that teacher in me will NOT let them learn incorrect pencil grip) so I wanted to start with something that would practice that.
Alphabet Activities A-M
I’m working to create one page for each letter of the alphabet. I thought it might make it easier to separate them into 2 different posts (so N-Z will be out next Tuesday) so I didn’t get overwhelmed trying to create all these.
– Each page starts with a letter find. The child is asked to circle the letter of the page…there are 3 lower case and 3 upper case.
– Then they have a coloring activity. They are given one color for upper case and another for lower and they need to color the sections correctly.
– Then they have to write both upper and lower cases 5 times each.

Each page takes just a few minutes to complete, but will get your child learning to identify the letters, working on pencil grip, forming letters and visually discriminating upper and lower case letters.
I totally love the clip art I found from Educasong! I’m totally inspired by all the fun clip art to keep creating…you’ve been warned!
