Today I’ve got another yummy apple recipe the whole family is going to love.
Actually, it was so good that I hid the left overs in the fridge so my husband wouldn’t eat them! LOL
- 3 Granny Smith apples, cut into bite sized chunks
- 2 TBSP butter
- 1 package cole slaw mix
- 2 TBSP water
- 1 TBSP cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced and cut into bite sized chunks
- 2 TBSP dijon mustard
- 1 tsp honey
- Place smoked sausage into a large skillet over medium heat.
- When cooked, remove and set aside.
- Place butter in pan and allow to melt completely.
- Add apple chunks and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add in the cole slaw mix and cook for 4 more minutes on medium heat.
- Stir in the salt, pepper, water and vinegar.
- Place the sausage on top of the mixture.
- Cover and reduce to low heat for 15 minutes.
- Mix the honey and mustard in a small bowl.
- Stir mix and cook for 3 more minutes.
- Place mixture evenly in 4 bowls and top with honey mustard.
We used Angus Beef smoked sausage and it was super good…and the meal was naturally gluten free!
