Apple Sausage Skillet Recipe

Today I’ve got another yummy apple recipe the whole family is going to love.

Actually, it was so good that I hid the left overs in the fridge so my husband wouldn’t eat them! LOL

Apple Sausage Skillet Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 Granny Smith apples, cut into bite sized chunks
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 1 package cole slaw mix
  • 2 TBSP water
  • 1 TBSP cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced and cut into bite sized chunks
  • 2 TBSP dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
Instructions
  1. Place smoked sausage into a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. When cooked, remove and set aside.
  3. Place butter in pan and allow to melt completely.
  4. Add apple chunks and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add in the cole slaw mix and cook for 4 more minutes on medium heat.
  6. Stir in the salt, pepper, water and vinegar.
  7. Place the sausage on top of the mixture.
  8. Cover and reduce to low heat for 15 minutes.
  9. Mix the honey and mustard in a small bowl.
  10. Stir mix and cook for 3 more minutes.
  11. Place mixture evenly in 4 bowls and top with honey mustard.

 

We used Angus Beef smoked sausage and it was super good…and the meal was  naturally gluten free!
