School starts in 2 weeks (YIPPEE)! But I’m starting to get a bit nervous about getting it all done ON TIME with 3 kids going to two different schools.

The boys are 4 (almost 5) and 6 now and can start to take on some chores. Plus, they are totally easy to bribe so I think it’s time to introduce chore charts.

There were specific things I wanted the boys to do each morning and afternoon so I went out looking for a printable that would allow me to have those separated for them.

I found this awesome Kids Routine Checklist (it’s on A Bowl Full of Lemons but from CleanMama.net BOTH sites you should def check out!).

I printed out one for each boy. Then we talked about things they could do in the mornings before school and added those to the top set of tasks. And then repeated the process for the bottom set for the afternoon.

They seemed pretty excited about it. I have a School Lunch Menu printable that I then gave them for them to choose their lunches for next week (one more week of camp and a great time to practice). They REALLY liked that and wanted to pack their lunches on Saturday afternoon!

I’m going to get some clipboards and hang them on some hooks so that the boys can check each activity off as they complete them.

And of course, they’ve already picked out what they want for doing a good job! But if it makes my life easier…I’m totally up for buying a little animal at Michaels every week!

How are you getting your kids ready for school routines?
