This is my fourth children’s book activities post in our new #BookaDayinMay Instagram Challenge that I’m doing with my blogging buddies at CarrieElle.com and RockaByeParents.com.
Duck For President
Duck For President by Doreen Cronin is a really cute book by the author of Click, Clack Moo Cows That Type…another of my favorite books.
Duck is up to no good again in this book. He doesn’t like doing chores so he decides that he should be in charge and organizes an election…which he wins, of course. But he doesn’t like running a farm, too dirty, so he decides to run for governor. But, again, he thinks it’s too much work so he decides to campaign for president. But, again, being president was just too much work. So he looked at the want ads and found a perfect job!
Duck Activities
1. Writing Activity – Kaitlyn French has a great free downloadable writing activity that asks kids “If I were President…”
2. Voting Activity – Little Bird Kindergarten has a free downloadable voting activity that’s a fun way to introduce the concept of voting.
3. Handprint Crafts – FunHandpringArtBlog.com has a great post with 8 farm animals made from handprints that will make a really fun way to extend this book.
