This is my eighth children’s book activities post in our new #BookaDayinMay Instagram Challenge that I’m doing with my blogging buddies at CarrieElle.com and RockaByeParents.com.
Listen Buddy
Listen Buddy by Helen Lester is a story about a little bunny with big beautiful ears who doesn’t use them. He doesn’t pay attention to what people are saying to him. When his dad asks him for a pen, he brings a hen. And when his mom asks for a slice of bread, he saws the bed. One day he goes for a hop all by himself and his lack of attention gets him into some hot water…but he learns his lesson quickly!
Book Activities
1. Play Telephone – At dinner, whisper something into the person’s ear to your right. Then have them whisper to the person on their right…and so on until the last person tells what they heard. It’s rarely what was initially said, but good practice listening.
2. Rhyming Activities – Fun-a-Day.com has a list of 10 rhyming activities as part of a series about rhyming.
3. Bunny Craft – AllKidsNetwork.com has a cute paper plate bunny craft.
