This is my sixteenth children’s book activities post in our new #BookaDayinMay Instagram Challenge that I’m doing with my blogging buddies at CarrieElle.com and RockaByeParents.com.
The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza
The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza retold by Philemon Sturges is spin off of the classic Little Red Hen story. In this version, she decides to make a pizza though and goes about collecting the ingredients and, of course, asking her friends for help – which they refuse to do – until it comes time to eat.
Do you think she’ll let them eat the pizza?
A great book for taking about step-by-step instructions and making predictions.
Book Activities
1. Make Your Own Pizza – Give your kids an English muffin or a tortilla and let them make their own pizza. Here’s how we did it.
2. Paper Plate Pizza – These paper plate pizzas are an adorable craft to go along with this story. And a great way to talk about what each person likes on their pizza – and how it’s ok to be different!
3. Do-a-Dot – This page would be a cute do-a-dot activity to do while you wait for your pizza to cook.
