This is my fifteenth children’s book activities post in our new #BookaDayinMay Instagram Challenge that I’m doing with my blogging buddies at CarrieElle.com and RockaByeParents.com.
Stellaluna
Stellaluna by Janell Cannon is a story about an adorable little fruit bat that falls off her mommy one night and lands in a bird nest.
Stellaluna doesn’t quite fit in with the birds, but the mommy bird says she can stay if she tries. Stellaluna tries hard to be like the others, but it’s just not in her nature. This make her feel bad about herself.
But one day while they are practicing their new flying abilities, Stellaluna gets too far ahead of her friends. She has to stay out because it’s too late to fly back, but this gives her the chance to meet some nocturnal creatures…that just might help her figure out who she is.
Be sure to stop often and ask your child what he/she thinks is going to happen next. This book is great for making predictions.
