My kids love crafts…and so do I. I just don’t really like to mix the two because of the mess. (I know…I’ll lose my Mom-card for saying that.)
So when Rubber Band Mania came in the mail I thought, “Perfect! Crafts without the mess!”
I let Connor look through the book and choose a project to start with…he chose 3 so I picked the easiest out of those!
Rubber Band Mania
Rubber bands are quite popular with the Rainbow Loom craze (which we haven’t tried yet).
Rubber Band Mania teaches you how to make your own loom in order to make all that fun jewelry! Plus it’s got almost 50 projects using rubber bands.
We chose to make a catapult.
Since Connor’s reading is really taking off, I thought this would be a perfect chance for him to work on reading/comprehension. I had him read the directions and then we talked about what to do before he did it.
The directions were super easy to follow and we only needed rubber bands, large craft sticks and a spoon and the boys had hours of fun (well after they got over the dogs eating the marshmallows they were initially launching.)
One lucky reader will receive their very own copy of Rubber Band Mania!
Do your kids like to do crafts with rubber bands?
