The Edge of Never

This is the first book in our Summer Reading 2013 Book-a-Week Challenge.

I’m going to start off by saying that if cursing bothers you…this is NOT the book for you.

Also, if bedroom scenes aren’t really your scene…then probably best to skip this one.

If you’re still with me, then you’ll love it!

The Edge of Never follows Camryn and Andrew as they take an adventure across the United States.

Camryn has had a bad few years and just had a massive fight with her one and only friend.

She decides that she needs some space and takes off on a bus from North Carolina heading to Idaho.

In Kansas an annoying, yet sexy, Andrew gets on the bus and sits behind her.

They strike up a friendship after Andrew saves her from a would be rapist. They decide it might be best to travel together.

The story follows them as their relationship blossoms and takes some deep twists and turns.

The entire time I was listening to this book, I kept waiting for something horrible to happen. I had read enough reviews about people crying and laughing while reading it that I knew something was coming and I anxiously awaited the other shoe to drop.

The author hints at what it might be through the entire book, but she really takes time to build the characters and let their relationship develop. I will tell you that everything turns out ok in the end…so just keep going!

I liked this book, but I must admit that I had some trouble attaching to the characters at first. The author starts so far back in their stories and takes so long to get to the meat of their story, that it kind of dragged at first for me.

I did like the book and I wish that I had had the chance to read/listen to it all at once so I could stay in the moment with the characters. I think that having to stop and start it took away from the experience of the story.

I’d definitely give it 4 stars!

What did y’all think?
