My husband grew up the youngest of 7 children living in South Buffalo, NY.

As we got to know each other, I noticed that he liked some really strange food. Then he took me up to NY for the family weekend in the Adirondacks. I got to see first hand some of the “food” they liked – liverwurst, limbergher cheese, meatloaf sandwiches and ground up baloney are just a few of their favorites. I didn’t eat the entire weekend!

They have specific foods for each holiday too. And “luckily” my husband has discovered a company that will send it to us! YAY!

Dave thinks that it’s the BEST thing ever to be able to go online to BuffaloFoods.com and order all this “local” food and have it delivered to our door the next day. I think it’s crazy to spend that much on food when he’s the only one that will eat it. But every year I humor him on this one day. And since he cooks it all….whatever!

I will give him that the kids and I will eat the pierogi…well not the sauerkraut ones, but the potato and cheese ones we’re all over.

He also HAS to order a butter lamb. He’s gotten the kids all excited about it and when he opened the box today they declared that it was not for eating! LOL

Did you have fun in the “kitchen” this week? Did you try a new food or a new kid friendly restaurant? Did your littlest ones use their snacks to count to 10? We invite you to share your experiences, photos, stories or recipes that include your #kidsinthekitchen. Come join me and my co-hosts Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sara at Sensibly Sara, each week linking up a post, new or old, that feature the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
