My kids love to eat cereal, toast and waffles for breakfast – not a drop of protein or fruit. It’s a constant struggle to sneak in something healthy (and not packed with a ton of gluten).
I swear my kids would only eat Goldfish for every meal if I let them! Breakfast is a really big struggle because they hate eggs and the “typical” American breakfast is really not healthy.
I try make muffins fairly regularly since I can hide fruits and veggies in those (check out my mango muffins recipe).
Carrie at CarrieElle.com came up with these awesome chocolate banana breakfast bars that my kids love! It’s got an oat base so it’s got some heaviness to it that will help them make it at least a whole hour before they’re starving again.
