It’s been a rough couple of days. Maddi has been struggling…I have been struggling.
We decided to lay even lower today and make sure that she gets some good naps after having a fairly sleepless night.
I was even able to sneak in a massage during her morning nap.
We ventured across the way to a new restaurant. The wait staff didn’t speak English, but the menu had English so we made it work.
I ordered a veggie pizza (pretty much all I’ve eaten is rice or pizza for the last week). This one was a bit different with peas, corn and peppers, but it was good.
We all decided to take a rest in the afternoon and then met up with some of the other families for a little picnic in the lobby of our floor.
It was great to commiserate with the other families who are all struggling like we are. It was really fun to watch people get off the elevator and be greeted by 5 families just sitting on the floor trying to get their toddlers to eat.
Then our guide showed up with the passports for the babies…which means we can leave this icky city…but not until Sunday morning.
I started to feel REALLY bad about now. I was pretty sure that I was going to throw up, so we headed back to the room.
Nora brought some anti-nausea meds so I took one, but it didn’t really help.
Maddi has had some seriously bad fumes coming out of her with all the new food and that plus my touchy stomach made for a rough couple of hours.
About 10pm, we couldn’t stand it any more and called the ostomy nurse in Austin. She said that the eggs that she’s been devouring for breakfast each morning were probably the cause of the problems.
We felt a bit better…like we at least had a plan for the next day.
Then about half way through the night I started to feel better.
We’re looking forward to packing up on Saturday and moving onto Guangzhou on Sunday!
