Meal planning is something that I really struggle with. My kids are super picky eaters (three kids and 14 opinions about what I should cook) and recently I’ve been having some stomach issues.
About a month ago my stomach starting bothering me…like the actual stomach and REAL pain. I went to see a regular MD and he totally blew me off…actually laughed that I ever thought it might be something worse and just gave me a prescription for a proton pump inhibitor (which are actually REALLY bad for your health).
Not feeling this was the right choice for me, I found an integrative medicine doctor (looks at the whole body and root causes) and will be having some tests this week to make sure it’s nothing serious then working on finding what foods are causing the problem and adjusting my diet.
My point, there’s 2 actually: 1) Trust your gut – don’t just take the meds and manage symptoms, find out what’s really going on and 2) my meal plans may be a little strict for the next few weeks until I figure out what’s going on!
Gluten Free Meal Plan
Monday – Paleo Teriyaki Chicken with a side of baked asparagus
Tuesday – Quinoa Black Bean Tacos
Wednesday – Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Thursday – Cauliflower Mac and Cheese with Sausage
Friday – Chicken Marsala with steamed broccoli
Saturday – Taco Pasta Bake (with gf noodles)
Sunday – Herb Roasted Turkey Legs with Cinnamon Mashed Sweet Potatoes and a salad
