Over the last 2 years I’ve gone off and on of a gluten free diet. I feel sooo much better when sticking to it though. So about 3 weeks ago I decided that I was going to stick to it…again.

Last weekend I found tons of recipes for my gluten free crock pot recipes round up. So I thought that I’d try to make the gluten free snack mix I found since I’d really like the kids to start eating healthier too.

I found this gluten free snack mix on Crunchy Frugalista (<—–click there to see the recipe) and thought that it would be good for the kids since I’m having a hard time with portable snacks for them.

The recipe calls for gluten free pretzels…which I couldn’t find, so that’s the only thing missing(if you look at her pictures and mine and wonder why it looks so different). It also calls for a cereal called Puffins which we’d never had…but definitely loved. (the big puffy squares)

The kids LOVED this stuff, but it’s definitely NOT portable. They made such a mess with it just sitting at the table…I am so thankful that we have dogs to clean it all off the floor!

I think I’ll have to try it again and see if I can use more of the Puffins and less of the rice cereal to make it a bit less messy. But it’s definitely worth the effort since they enjoyed it!
