There are a ton of fun things to do in Texas and I promise to do a better job of posting about them on here.

Many of you reading this post are going to think…where the heck is Pflugerville, Texas? I know it’s a strange sounding name, but it really is a cool little town.

Pflugerville is a suburb of Austin that only a few short years ago was excited to hit 50,000 people, but is growing by leaps and bounds every day.

Our big claim to fame these days is that the largest Hawaiian Falls Waterpark is currently being built here and set to open Memorial Day weekend 2014.

Hawaiian Falls Waterpark

Our new waterpark will be one of seven in the state. The others are in Waco, The Colony, Garland, Mansfield, White Settlement and Roanoke.

Now I know it’ll be super cool to have this so close, but the best thing, I think, is that they have summer camps!

With Summer coming fast, I’m already starting to look around for some cool local camps and this one will be perfect since it’s only 2 miles away and Connor is finally old enough to start going to their Camp H2O.

Hawaiian Falls offers two Splash Camps: Camp H20 and Junior Lifeguard Camp; and a Leader in Training Program. The five-day camps will take place 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 7 – August 11 at Hawaiian Falls Water Park.  Early drop off at 8 a.m. and late pick up at 5:30 p.m.are also available. Complete details are available at http://hfalls.com/splashcamp/ .

Camp H20 is a camp for ages 6 – 12 and will explore the wonders of science and nature with lessons on manners and leadership, featuring fun experiments on water science, chemistry, weather, physics and the environment, combined with water park play. The full-day camp is $250, which includes a season pass, or $200 for those who have already purchased a 2014 season pass. Additional weeks are available at the discounted rate of $200 per week.

Junior Lifeguard Camp makes learning lifeguard skills fun for ages 12 – 15. Enjoy a program that includes training in rescue skills and drills, general pool operations, hands on training for slide dispatching, public swim and more.  This program DOES NOT certify participants as lifeguards, but it gives them a head start on becoming a future lifeguard.  The Junior Lifeguard camp emphasizes fitness; prevention and response; providing care and leadership. All Junior Guard participants are given an opportunity to complete community service hours outside the program hours. All participants must be able to swim 50 yards without stopping. The full-day camp is $250, including a season pass, or $200 for additional weeks and those who have already purchased a 2014 season pass.

To celebrate this new Hawaiian Falls Waterpark, they’ve given me one FREE week of camp (to any of their parks) for one of my lucky readers!

Why do you think your kids will enjoy this camp?
