My Review
I loved how the author, Colleen Hoover, gives you hints throughout the book to help you try to connect the big picture, but it still really surprises you in the end.
In the beginning Sky seems to be a normal average teenager…although she was homeschooled until her senior year, doesn’t have a cell phone, a computer or a tv…which makes you wonder a bit if everything is legit.
As her relationship develops with Holder, you start to see a few more hints into her past and start to make guesses at what might be going on. You may even be able to guess what you think is going on, but you won’t get the whole story until you read.
This is what made me totally enjoy the book. I’m one of those people that totally has the movie figured out in the first 20 minutes. So I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on.
It kept me guessing and interested.
I will warn you that it does have some disturbing undertones of what happened to Sky in her past. The book does not go too deeply into any of the abuse, but it does deal with some of her emotions from it. I just want you to be aware of it in case this is a sensitive subject for you.
I really enjoyed Hopeless. It was a little longer book which is why I gave it two weeks (plus there was a holiday in there), but it kept me engaged and interested the entire time.
This was a great book! Go here to get your own copy for just $3.99.
