Meet Maddi (Madeline) Grace!
We are super excited!
As you know, we got a call, almost a month ago, asking if we’d be willing to look at the file of a little girl.
We have finally gotten the initial approval from China, so we are allowed to share her picture publicly.
She is 15 months old and lives in the Henan Province in the People’s Republic of China.
She was found at 2 days old (an estimate, but probably pretty accurate). She needed medical attention immediately in order to survive.
She currently has a colostomy (her bowel empties from this on her abdomen) and will need at least two surgeries (one to repair and one to close the colostomy) once she is home.
We have contacted one of the top doctors in the US (I emailed him that first night and had a response the next morning) and he feels that her condition can be surgically repaired and have a positive outcome.
We, of course, don’t know the full extent of her internal issues, but she seems to be healthy and happy from what we have seen.
We got an update a couple weeks ago with 2 videos and 5 photos. This video is my favorite. She gets sooo mad when they take her food.
It will still be a while before I’m allowed to go to China to get her…but hopefully she’ll be here by Thanksgiving!
