Meals on Wheels
I was planning a cute, easy treat to make with the kids today for our Kids in the Kitchen series post, but then I got a call this morning asking if we could fill in for the Meals on Wheels route.
Since all I had planned for the day was to write some blog posts…that I thought could wait…we agreed.
This is our second time this year to get to do the route that we share with some other moms in the area. The kids think it’s fun. It’s kind of a scavenger hunt to find the right number on the apartment we’re looking for.
On our route, all six of the clients live in one apartment complex so that makes it easier on us.
The boys love to run through the halls and try to go into each of the apartments to talk with the residents.
All in all, it took us, maybe, 45 minutes from the time we left our house until we pulled out of the parking lot after delivering the last meal.
It’s a small thing, but huge to the people who depend on this service.
If you’d like to see if you could help, check here to see if there’s a route near you.
