With the end of school coming fast (Evan is out this week and Connor is out next week), I wanted to make a homemade gift for their teachers that would be cute and something the whole class could enjoy too.
A few weeks ago I was at an outdoor vendor event and my friend had a lollipop tree as a decoration on her table. It was super cute (and Maddi spotted it right off and played cute so she could have one) and I knew that would make the perfect teacher gift.
How to Make a Lollipop Tree
I wanted to make our gift have more use than just to hold the lollipop tree so when I found this tumbler I knew it was perfect!
I also will admit that we had a little of Easter grass left over and that’s what I used to stuff the inside of the tumbler (shhh…don’t tell her!).
Supplies:
Easter grass
2 bags of lollipops (I used Dum-Dums)
hot glue gun
Silhouette + vinyl(optional)
Directions:
1. Stuff the Easter grass in the cup.
2. Take the straw out of the lid and then push the straw into the styrofoam ball far enough that the ball will sit on the mouth of the cup.
3. Stick in the lollipops. I pushed them in at an angle because they would hit the straw and not go in as far as I wanted them to. I used a bag and a half of lollipops. Just keep sticking them in until you’re happy with it.
4. Put hot glue on the lid of the cup and then place the cup in it and hold for 20 seconds.
5. I used this tutorial from Silhouette School to attempt to make a circle monogram. Then I put her name in vinyl on the cup, but I totally messed it up since I haven’t used my machine in a while. I got lucky though and Connor’s teacher’s last name works backwards and upside down so it didn’t matter. (I won’t be so lucky when I do one for Evan’s teacher this week.)
