Today we had the medical exams for the babies to make sure that they’re healthy enough to enter the US.
To put it mildly, Maddi was less than pleased to be messed with. She has no problems letting people know EXACTLY how she feels! She weighed in at 9.4kg which comes out to about 21 pounds. She’s not missing any meals either!
In the lobby of the building where the medical exams were, there was a wine vending machine! BRILLIANT! They need these in Target.
She fell asleep on the way back to the hotel and took a nice long nap.
While she was asleep I snuck over to McDonald’s and got her her first Happy Meal. She had one bite from each nugget and then chucked them.
She’s such a ham. Every time you get out the camera, she looks right at it and smiles. She was having fun with the mirror. We were able to get the hat on for a few seconds, but I can NOT get the bows in her hair.
Then I took her to the little playground in the hotel. She had fun walking up and down a step (those are new to her) and over a grate (hilarious to watch).
One of the dads there had a bubble machine. Maddi was really scared of the bubbles. She would run away at first. Then she would grab my finger and walk over a little and then run away. Finally she figured out they were safe and went on her own.
It’s so interesting to see the things she’s been exposed to and things she hasn’t.
So we got her some potato chips today too!
We are all so excited to be here. I think I ate more calories today than I have the entire time we’ve been in China. We are all bonded from having survived Zhengzhou! LOL
