When I was diagnosed with both early menopause and insulin resistance a year and half ago, the amount of medications and vitamins I take daily tripled.
I have a fairly reliable system for taking my meds both morning and night, but at least once a week…I end up forgetting.
Recently I was introduced to an app, MediSafe, that can help keep me on top of my daily medications.
Medisafe is the leading app that can help you stay on top of all your medications.
This app is SUPER easy to use and will be a great help each time I go to the doctor and they ask me to list all the medications and dosages I’m on.
First you click on the little pill icon in the top right corner and enter the name of the first medication. You can choose when to get a reminder for that pill. (I just did a group of pills and called it morning meds because I keep them all together in a weekly box by my coffee.)
You can also choose the shape and color of the pills and any additional information you need (take with food, refill reminders and doctor names).
But I think my favorite part is the Med-Friends. I can see this being really useful for families.
My mom used to have to go and set up my grandfather’s pills and then call and make sure he took them. This app helps out with that because if you hook up a med-friend then it will send a notification to the person you have assigned so they know you’ve taken your meds. What a headache saver for all parties included!
