Lately life has been crazy busy!
The kids are going 90 different directions. I have tons of work that HAS deadlines and must be done (and doesn’t care about sick kids or baseball games).
So when you get that busy…something has to give. And unfortunately for me it’s been eating (and sometimes showering too – but since I work online no one cares about that LOL).
And since I spend at least 2 hours a day in the car chauffeuring kids around, I need to find something that is fast, easy and portable so that I can stop skipping meals! That’s where EAS Whey Protein Powder comes in handy. I mix it into my favorite mixed fruit smoothie recipe and it goes with me!
One thing that’s really hard for me to incorporate into a healthier diet is protein. I’m not a big meat eater so I try to find alternate sources of protein.
One of my favorites is to include protein powder in my daily smoothies. Smoothies are a great way to get some serious fruit, veggie and protein power packed into one drink.
One of my go-to protein powder brands is EAS® Protein Powder which you can find in the pharmacy area of Target stores near the protein bars. It comes in packets making it easy to throw into my bag and take with me.
These are easy to mix on the go. Just throw a mixing cup in your bag and a packet of protein powder and you can easily just add water while you’re sitting in the car line.
Or if you’re at the kids’ school eating lunch with them, just grab a milk and add the powder in for a healthy lunch. They come in a few different flavors and it feels like you’re getting a treat!
Mixed Fruit Smoothie Recipe
But my very favorite way to make a smoothie (when I have a little more time) is to add frozen fruit and a banana.
I love the frozen mixed fruit bag that has pineapple, mango, papaya and strawberries in it. I also add a little banana to make it a bit thicker and it’s a super filling meal.
One of my other favorite things to add to my smoothies is to use my homemade kefir instead of milk. Kefir is jam packed with probiotics making my daily smoothie a million times better for my gut.
