Apparently I’m on a body part kick ( Zombie Treats and Pretzel Bones), but it’s been kind of fun coming up with Halloween treats that will gross you out, but are super yummy too!
These Monster Toe Treats are sure to hit both my requirements!
I used melting chocolate on these, but they would be even easier if you just opened a can of white frosting and dyed it green!
Ingredients
- 12 oz. white chocolate candy melts
- Green paste food coloring (can try regular food coloring too if using frosting)
- 22 peanut butter filled oblong sandwich cookies
- 11 Tootsie rolls
Instructions
- Cut the Tootsie rolls in half lengthwise (like a hotdog) and then in half crosswise to make the toe nails.
- Put 2 cups of water in a pan on the stove. Place a glass mixing bowl with the chocolate candy melts in it on top of the pan (diy double boiler).
- Stir until melted and then reduce heat.
- Mix in green food coloring/paste.
- Use a knife to coat the top of your cookie with the chocolate (or frosting).
- Place the coated cookies on wax paper.
- Immediately press the Tootsie Roll into place to make the toenail.
- Let the cookies stand for 15 minutes or until the coating has hardened.
What’s your favorite Halloween treat?
