We’ve all had those mommy moments that make you want to crawl under a rock and not come out until your kids turn 18.
Abbey and Monica over at Life Well Blogged have searched the web and compiled the best stories of moms (that are about to lose it) in the blogosphere and put them in one place…a book they call No Laughing Allowed.
When I contacted Abbey about doing this review, I was really excited. They currently have three books: No Laughing Allowed (mommy horror stories), To Bliss and Back (marriage blunders) and Holly Daze (holiday mishaps). She told me I could pick any of the three as my free review copy (plus an extra copy to giveaway) and I really had a hard time choosing.
No Laughing Allowed is the first book in the series and seemed to be right up my alley…crazy kid stories. (Plus I’m kind of a rule follower so starting with book 1 seemed like the correct place to start.)
I must admit that I did have a bit of trouble getting into the book because it’s not written as one long story, but as a bunch of blog posts from various bloggers grouped into chapters on similar topics. But once I was able to get past the set up of the book, I really started to enjoy the stories. They have posts from some awesome bloggers that I didn’t know of before reading this book. In the Kindle Edition that I reviewed, there are live links after each story allowing you to go straight from the story to the author’s personal blog so you can enjoy more stories by the ones you connect with.
I also must admit that I did laugh out loud on numerous occasions. Like when the lady had to take her kids with her to her “annual” appointment and when one mom gets so frustrated with the drop off/pick line at school that she writes her own rules and when one mom tries to teach her kids how to make themselves cry on cue for a play…I could probably go on, but I’d rather that you have a chance to read them…and laugh out loud for yourself.
Life Well Blogged is giving away a free e-copy of No Laughing Allowed to one of my lucky readers.
I received a free e-book for review, but the opinions are 100% my own.
