OK so I may be a bit behind the times (I admit I get my news from Facebook or Elmo), but I had no idea that Norton had a wifi security product that would protect your mobile devices…did you? (This totally would have come in handy in October when I was in China since they also have Norton Hotspot Privacy and our internet connections were sketchy! I totally could have safely shopped for the supplies I needed to have when we got home!)
Today I was at Barton Creek Mall in south Austin and they had a Norton truck (#SmartSecurity) outside the AMC theater (it was chilly, but totally worth it to brave the winds).
We got to go in the truck (where it was a bit warmer) and do a scavenger hunt.
They give you this device and it gives you 6 clues. Then you walk around the “city” looking for the places that answer the clues. You scan the present on the wall to see if you answered the question correctly. Each one highlights a different feature of their security.
Once you’ve solved all of the clues, you take it back to one of the “elves” and they a) tell you if you’re card is a winner of one of their prizes and b) give you a pamphlet that tells you exactly how to activate your free 60-day trial of Norton Mobile Security (only $29.99/year after that).
We have Norton on our computers at home, but I had no idea that they offered protection of your mobile devices too. (Of course when I mentioned this amazing tidbit to my husband he mentioned that he had just upgraded our home account to cover these devices with that plan.)
Anyway, this wifi security helps:
– Recover lost or stolen devices
– Stops access of your private information
– Restores your lost information
-Protects against digital threats
They even have remote activated alarms that can make the phone scream if lost or stolen…or even cooler it will take a picture if someone tries to access your phone once you’ve activated the alarm! (Of course it also protects you if you accidentally get a virus, just like their desktop plans.)
