Blurb.com is a really cool website where you can design books and photo books.
I had heard of it a few years ago and had started to make some books with their program, but never printed them out.
I was planning to take my posts from my personal blog and make them into books for the boys so they would be able to read them as they got older. It’s still on my list of things to do, but I thought maybe I’d start with something a little easier.
Designer Photo Books
This week Blurb released a brand new collection of 6 different designer photo books. These are quick, easy templates that allow you to just upload your photos and then have them printed out as either a soft or hard cover book.
I chose the Austin template (since that’s where I live). It literally took me 15 minutes start to finish.
You can upload pictures from pretty much anywhere (Facebook, Instagram, your computer…) and then choose to have the program place the photos for you or you can place them on the specific pages you want them on yourself.
I just figured out (better late than never) that there’s a little button at the bottom that allows you to add text to each page….which would have been nice, but since I just did a book about the horse farm…not necessary.
The books are surprisingly high quality and the photos come out “picture perfect.”
The boys love the book and I think I may have found a new addiction. (Actually I bet I could make scrapbook pages with my My Memories Scrap Book software and then print them out on Blurb….gonna have to check that out.)
