One way to really help out your diet and make sure that you’re getting the all the fruits and veggies that you need is to make smoothies.
My nutritionist recommended that I have a smoothie each morning for breakfast. It did take me a while to get into the habit of not actually “eating” anything for breakfast, but it did help me maintain my blood sugar through the morning.
Skinny Smoothies
Shell Harris and Elizabeth Johnson, the creators of SmoothieWeb.com, have come out with a great new book Skinny Smoothies: 101 Delicious Drinks that Help You Detox and Lose Weight.
Since I’m following the Food Lovers Fat Loss System, I thought that this book would fit right in with my new eating plan.
I found one recipe that is fast, easy and delicious…the Vanilla Blueberry Smoothie. It only has 4 ingredients and I almost always have these on hand. I even put this recipe in the Food Lovers Online Journal and only needed to make one minor adjustment to get it to be a Food Lovers Plate and that was to reduce the blueberries from 1 cup to 3/4 cup.
There is one BIG problem with this smoothie though…you MUST check your teeth immediately after drinking it. I have wandered around for hours with big hunks of blueberries in my teeth. I’ve warned you!
I asked if I could share this recipe with y’all and they were more than happy to allow me to post it.
