It’s been about 48 hours since we first met the babies.
Maddi has really had a hard time grieving the loss of her familiar surroundings and nannies.
She has cried a lot, slept a lot, refused to eat much, won’t take any milk only water and won’t walk or stand.
This morning at breakfast, she started to emerge.
She had a TON of eggs and then started interacting with us. She giggled a bit, shook her head yes a few times and even did a sign for more.
Oh and she blows kisses!
We were amazed!
We are free for the next few days since we got our passport trip out of the way early so we decided to go to Walmart to get more food and diapers. Then came back to the hotel for a bit.
After we got a few snacks into her, Maddi asked to get down! First time! She waddled across to the bed where there were some cups. She’s not too steady on her feet but that may just be from lack of use.
And in true toddler fashion, she proceeded to touch everything in the room…esp the buttons on the phone.
Unfortunately while she was exploring, she had a dirty diaper so all the fun stopped and the screaming began when I changed her.
She sat on my lap for a few minutes and we made faces back and forth. She’s pretty ticklish so we played a bit.
Then I laid her down, put a blanket over her and she went to sleep! Awesome!
The weather here in Zhengzhou has been pretty bad and now it’s cold.
We stay here until Sunday so we’ll have to do some exploring, but for now….we’re taking it easy.
