Spring is here, and we hope it is here to stay! Spring weather can be wonderful when it’s warm outside but not yet extremely hot. With the changing weather, you are probably ready to switch out your heavy winter treats for some lighter spring desserts. If that’s the case, take a look at the following ideas:

Spring Desserts

  1. Fruit and Whipped Cream—What’s easier than pairing fruit with whipped cream? Whether you choose strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, or another type of fruit, this dessert will make for a tasty and healthier dessert. Fresh fruit often tastes better than frozen or canned fruit, so try looking for farmers’ markets in the coming months in order to get your fruit straight from the source.
  1. Smoothies—Smoothies can be made with many different ingredients. Bananas always make for a good addition, because they add a subtle flavor and good texture. Milk will help to make this dessert a little creamier, too. Try experimenting with different ingredients!
  1. Crepes—Here is another great dessert that incorporates fruit. Put bananas and chocolate sauce in a pre-made crepe for an easy yet delicious dessert. Jams can also be paired with crepes. Just top it off with whipped cream!
  1. Parfaits—Parfaits can be made by layering ice cream or yogurt with your choice of cookies or granola. Berries can make up another layer in the parfait. Chocolate sauce or brownies always make a good addition, too! Try a key lime parfait by using key lime yogurt and crumbled graham crackers along with some white chocolate chips.

These desserts will transition well to summer, too, so you will be all set when the next season arrives. Try out different fruits as they come into season throughout the spring and summer!
