Breast Cancer Sucks!
Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. It is a vicious disease that prematurely steals the lives of our friends, sisters, mothers and wives.
Some people are “lucky”, like my friend Kristi. They take toxic meds, lose their hair, lose their breasts and so much more, but they survive after the cruelest battle of their lives.
They are survivors.
And some people are not so lucky, again, like my same friend Kristi.
Kristi was one of the kindest, funniest, sweetest people I have ever known. She treated everyone like they were her best friend. She loved to the fullest. She laughed to the fullest and she lived every day to the fullest.
She battled breast cancer and won!
Then, a year later, she battled it again and within 6 months, she lost a valiant fight.
That was 6 months ago. I still cry every time I think of her. I have put off this post for a month because I cannot see the screen through the tears.
I miss her terribly. And I’m not the only one. There are literally thousands of people like me with huge holes in their hearts all across the country.
But none as huge as those of her two sons, aged 4 and 10, and her husband, whom she’d known for 25 years.
