Right now I’m in Houston at an amazing blogging conference called Blog Elevated.
As I was coming into town I saw that I had an email. I tried HARD to get off the highway and just ended up at a stop light on the frontage road…where I checked my email to see that we received our TRAVEL APPROVAL to go to China!
It was such a relief!
The agency said that we could travel on October 9th and leave October 25th.
So then we had to find tickets…and fast before they all ran out…all while in a conference!
At 7:00pm on Friday night I was still on the phone with the travel agent at Dave’s work, but we scored our tickets! She has to go back in the system on Monday to double check Maddi’s lap child ticket.
It’s such a relief to have tickets and know a specific date!
We will leave in the morning of Oct 9th….arrive in the evening of Oct. 10th.
We’ll tour Beijing until the 13th when we leave to go to Henan…the province where Maddi lives.
On Oct. 14th they will bring Maddi to the hotel in the capital city where we will be staying!!!
On Oct. 15th, we’ll go to Luoyang, where she’s lived until then and sign paperwork making her officially ours!
On Oct. 18 or 19, we’ll head to Guangzhou.
On Oct 23, we have our Consulate appointment and Maddi will become a US citizen.
On Oct. 24, we pick up her paperwork.
On Oct. 25th, we get on a plane and start the trip home!
It’s so amazing and overwhelming!
This has been a hard 3 years to get us to this point…and I know it will continue to be hard for a while to come…but our family will be complete and our house filled with children!
