Turkey Cupcakes

Now that Halloween is over, we need to start looking to one of my favorite holidays of the year…Thanksgiving!

I love all the Fall colors, the food and am especially thankful this year for our newest family member.

These fun turkey cupcakes are the perfect kid activity and treat for Thanksgiving.

Supplies:

1 dozen cupcakes of any flavor (chocolate is our favorite)

12 Nutter Butter cookies

12 Oreo cookies

chocolate frosting

48 candy corn candies

1 quart sized baggie

a knife

Directions:

Turkey Cupcakes - step 1

1. Place the chocolate frosting in the baggie and cut a small chunk out of one corner of the baggie.

2. Squeeze the icing through that corner and put a circle mound of frosting on each cupcake.

3. Cut 1/2″ off the bottom of each Nutter Butter cookie and place them into the mound of icing. You may need to push it into the cupcake a bit to get it to stand up if wobbly.

4. Open the Oreos and place some of the icing on one side like in the photo.

Turkey Cupcakes - step 4

5. Place 4 candy corn in the icing, with 1/2 of the orange and the yellow sticking out to look like feathers. Then place a little more icing on it and put the cookie back together.

6. Place the Oreo behind the Nutter Butter and draw a face on the Nutter Butter with icing.

My kids really had fun with these…and the icing/Nutter Butter was a great taste!

Come join me and my co-hosts Melinda at Look What Mom Found, Paula at Frosted Fingers and Sara at Sensibly Sara, each week linking up a post, new or old, that feature the theme Kids in the Kitchen. It doesn’t matter what you are doing as long as you are doing it together, enjoying it and learning something along the way.
