With this being our first year of public school, I wanted to and do something to make lunch fun for both Connor and me.
I love the Bento Box lunch ideas, so I’ve been trying to add a little bit of creativity to lunch.
Texas Lunch (top left)
My kids have been interested in the 50 states lately so I thought I’d make a TX sandwich for Connor’s lunch today. I just used a TX shaped cookie cutter to cut out his peanut butter and honey sandwich. He also has pumpkin seeds, goldfish, raisins and apple cinnamon pound cake for a treat.
T-Rex Lunch (top right)
They are big into dinos right now too, so I used a dino cookie cutter and stamp to make the T-Rex shaped turkey and cheese sandwich (cut out each piece and then assemble). Then I used some food markers on a hard boiled egg to make a dino egg with some goldfish, grapes and fruit snacks and put them in silicone cupcake liners.
Triceratops Lunch (bottom left)
Triceratops shaped turkey and cheese sandwich using the dino cookie cutter and stamp with a few dino trees (broccoli) since they’re herbivores plus apple slices and goldfish. I also included a dino lunch note that’s just a funny joke that hopefully he can read.
Dog Days Lunch (bottom middle)
This one was just a slice of turkey and a slice of cheese rolled up with a dog cupcake pick to hold them together. He had some goldfish and a plum in a separate container too.
Longneck Lunch (bottom right)
For this one I used the dinosaur sandwich cutter. I love sandwich cutters because there isn’t as much wasted food as there is when you use a cookie cutter. Again we have some dino trees (broccoli) for our herbivore and goldfish and apple slices.
Hope this helps you with some easy school lunch ideas to help make lunch fun!
Check back next Tuesday for a whole new set of lunch ideas!
